Production method of 2-Butoxyethanol Powder.

2-Butoxyethanol Raw Materials is obtained by addition of n-butanol to ethylene oxide. The n-butanol was added to the ether solution of boron trifluoride at 20°C and ethylene oxide was passed through with stirring. It can also be carried out at near atmospheric pressure and lower temperature using alkali catalyst.

Butanol is mixed with boron trifluoride-ether complex, and then the reaction is carried out at 25-30 °C by passing ethylene oxide and increasing the temperature to 80 °C. After the reaction, the excess butanol is recovered, neutralized with alkali, distilled and fractionated to give the finished product of ethylene glycol monobutyl ether.
