Niobium oxide powder White crystal or powder. The relative density is 4.6. Melting point 1520℃. Turns yellow when heated, insoluble in water, soluble in hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid. Soluble with alkali metal carbonates and hydroxides. Niobium oxide is used as a single crystal of nickel niobate to make special optical glass, high and low frequency capacitors and piezoelectric ceramic components. It is also used in the production of various niobium alloys needed for iron niobium and special steel. It is a raw material for preparing niobium and its compounds. Also used as catalyst, refractory material. Niobium oxide is mainly used in ceramics, electronic ceramics, optical glass, glass coating, liquid crystal display, energy and other industries.
