Uses and synthesis of Cetrimide powderCetrimide Raw Materials is white or light yellow crystal to powder, easily soluble in isopropyl alcohol, soluble in water, generate a large number of bubbles when shaking, with cationic, nonionic, amphoteric surfactants have good compatibility.
It has excellent permeability, softening, emulsification, anti-static, biodegradability and bactericidal properties, etc. Cetrimide CAS 8044-71-1 has good chemical stability, heat resistance, light resistance, pressure resistance, and resistance to strong acids and alkalis.
Functions of Cetrimide powder
Skin and wound cleaning and disinfection:Skin cleaning: used for preoperative skin disinfection, periwound skin cleaning, and daily skin cleaning and antibacterial.
Wound irrigation: used for cleaning and rinsing superficial wounds, burn wounds, and ulcers, which helps reduce bacterial contamination and promote wound healing. But it is not suitable for deep or severely contaminated wounds.
Instrument disinfection: used for cleaning and disinfecting non-critical medical instruments, such as thermometers, stethoscopes, and preliminary cleaning of surgical instruments. But it is not suitable for high-level disinfection or sterilization, and cannot be used for final sterilization of surgical instruments.
Environmental disinfection: used for cleaning and disinfection of object surfaces, floors, desktops, etc., such as surface disinfection in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, homes, etc.
Personal care products: added as an antibacterial ingredient to some personal care products, such as antibacterial hand sanitizers, antibacterial soaps, skin cleansing lotions, etc.

Physicochemical Property of Cetrimide powder
Damage to cell membrane: As a cationic surfactant, cetrimonium bromide can adsorb to the negatively charged phospholipid molecules of bacterial cell membranes, destroying the integrity and permeability of cell membranes, leading to leakage of cell contents and cell death.
Protein denaturation: cetrimonium bromide can bind to proteins in bacterial cells, causing protein denaturation and inactivation, interfering with the normal metabolism and function of bacteria.
