Production methodprocess of 2-Mercaptobenzimidazole powder

1. Add 64kg of o-phenylenediamine, 18kg of potassium hydroxide, 52kg of carbon disulphide into the reactor. Start stirring, then add 480kg of alcohol, 190kg of distilled water slowly heated to dissolve, continue to heat and reflux for 3h. Cool down, stop boiling and add 24kg of activated carbon reflux for 20min, decolourisation. Then filter to remove the activated carbon.
2. The filtrate was put into the crystallisation tank, heated to 60-70°C and heated water 300 parts. Add aqueous acetic acid (30% to 32%) under stirring to make the crystallisation complete. Centrifugation and filtration, the crystals were collected and dried at 40°C to obtain 2-Mercaptobenzimidazole CAS 583-39-1.
