2-Methoxyethanol liquid (MOE), also known as ethylene glycol methyl ether, 2-Methoxyethanol CAS 109-86-4 is a clear, colorless liquid that is miscible with water, alcohol, acetic acid, acetone and DMF. 2-Methoxyethanol Raw Materials, as an important solvent, are widely used as solvents for various oils, cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, alcohol-soluble dyes and synthetic resins.

• 2-Methoxyethanol liquid is used as a coating solvent, penetrant, levelling agent and intermediate in organic synthesis and as an additive to jet fuel
• 2-Methoxyethanol CAS 109-86-4, an intermediate of the herbicide ethanesulfenon, is also a solvent for various oils, nitrocellulose and synthetic resins.

Production methodprocess of 2-Methoxyethanol liquid

Methanol is added into the boron trifluoride ether complex, and ethylene oxide is mixed at 25 ~ 300℃ under stirring. After passing, the temperature automatically rises to 38 ~ 45℃. The resulting reaction liquid is neutralized with potassium hydroxide methanol solution to pH=8 ~ 9, the methanol is recovered, distilled, and then fractionated into 2-Methoxyethanol liquid.
