DL-Proline powder is an unnatural amino acid, also known as proline dijaminoglycolic acid. It contains two chiral centers and four possible stereoisomers, namely DL-proline, D-proline, L-proline, and Meso-proline. DL-Proline is a solid, soluble in water and alcohol. It has deliquescence. Soluble in water and alcohol, insoluble in acetone, benzene and chloroform, insoluble in ether. DL-Proline is used for biochemical and nutritional studies, microbial tests, and preparation of media.
