DL-α-Tocopherol powder, chemical name (±)-2, 5, 7, 8-tetramethyl-2 -(4 ', 8 ', 12 '-trimethyltridecyl) -6-chromanol, also known as vitamin E alcohol, is a class of compounds that mainly exhibit vitamin E activity. Dl-alpha-tocopherol is a yellow to brown oily liquid with a distinctive odor. It is soluble in organic solvents, such as ethers and alcohols, but insoluble in water.
