Phenylethyl resorcinol is a highly effective ingredient in the whitening industry and is known as the "Hermes of the whitening industry". It has a strong antioxidant effect and can strongly inhibit the activity of tyrosinase, thereby reducing the production of melanin and achieving a whitening effect. Skin tests show that under conditions without exposure to light, a concentration of 0.5% phenylethyl resorcinol is more effective than a concentration of 1% kojic acid. It is widely used in various whitening, freckle removal and anti-aging cosmetic products, and is considered one of the most effective whitening ingredients in the skin research community.

Production methodprocess of Phenylethyl Resorcinol powder

1. 0.2mol2, 4-diacetoxystyrene was put into a three-mouth flask with stirring, 4mol benzene and 0.001mol p-methylbenzene sulfonic acid were put into the flask, and the temperature was raised to 80℃ for reflux and maintained for 5 hours.
2. Then the temperature was lowered to 50℃, 4mol methanol was added, and the temperature was raised to 64℃ for reflux and kept for 1 hour. Then atmospheric distillation, steam out the solvent. The residual material in the flask was recrystallized to obtain 32gPhenylethyl Resorcinol CAS 85-27-8
