Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Powder Usage and Synthesis:

Sodium dodecyl sulfate is the main component of detergent. It is commonly used in DNA extraction to denature and separate proteins from DNA. It is often misinterpreted as sodium dodecyl sulfate. It has good compatibility with anionic and nonionic compounds, good emulsification, foaming, penetration, decontamination and dispersion properties, rich foaming and fast biodegradation, but is second to sodium aliphatic alcohol ethoxylate sulfate (AES for short) in water solubility. It is widely used as foaming agent in toothpaste, soap, bath soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, and cosmetic ingredients. 95% of personal skin care products and household cleaning products contain sodium lauryl sulfate.

Pharmacokinetics of Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Powder:
Sodium dodecyl sulfate (sodiumdodecylsulfate, SDS), also known as sodiumlaurylsulfate (SLS), is a sulfate salt, molecular weight 288.38, white or light yellow crystals, very soluble in water, sodium dodecyl sulfate ( Sodium dodecylsulfonate (SDS), a sulfonate, molecular weight 272.38, is structurally different from sodium dodecyl sulfate in that sodium dodecyl sulfate has one less oxygen atom and the carbon atom is directly connected with the sulfur atom. Note the difference between the two to prevent misuse. It is produced by sulfating dodecanol and chlorosulfonic acid at 40~50℃ to produce lauryl sulfate, neutralizing with sodium hydroxide, bleaching, settling and spray drying.

Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate has excellent detergency, emulsification and foaming power, it can be used as detergent and textile auxiliary, also used as anionic surface activator, foaming agent for toothpaste, foaming agent for mine fire extinguisher, chemicalbook fire extinguisher, emulsifying agent for emulsion polymerization, emulsifying and dispersing agent for medicine, shampoo and other cosmetic products, wool purifying agent, detergent for silk and wool fine fabrics. Flotation agent for metal beneficiation. It is also used as washing and textile auxiliaries, as a foaming agent for toothpaste, fire extinguishing foam, emulsifying agent for emulsion polymerization, emulsifying and dispersing agent for pharmaceuticals, shampoo and other cosmetic products, and raw materials for detergents such as wool detergent.
