Applications of Dicalcium Phosphate Anhydrous powder
1. Food Industry
Leafing Agents and Nutrition Enhancers: Used in baked foods such as flour, bread, and cakes to improve texture and supplement calcium and phosphorus.
Quality Improvers: Used as dough regulators and emulsifiers to improve food processing performance.
2. Medicines and Health Products
Calcium Supplements: Prevent osteoporosis and rickets, and promote bone and tooth calcification.
Dental Care: Used in toothpaste or oral products to enhance tooth acid resistance and remineralization.
Adjuvant Treatment of Urinary Stones: Regulate urine ion balance and inhibit stone formation.
3. Feed Additives
Supplement phosphorus and calcium in livestock and poultry feed, promote animal growth and bone development, and prevent and treat rickets.
4. Industry and Materials Science
Bone Repair Materials: Similar to human bone composition, degradable, used in bone tissue engineering (such as silica-coated DCPA composites).
Plastic Stabilizers: Used in the Plastics Industry
Physicochemical Property of Dicalcium Phosphate Anhydrous powder
White monoclinic crystalline powder. Odorless, tasteless. Soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid, dilute nitric acid, acetic acid, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol.
Preparation method of Dicalcium Phosphate Anhydrous powder
1. Wet debinding water process
Raw materials: food grade phosphoric acid, calcite and lime/calcium hydroxide.
Steps:
Neutralization reaction generates coarse particles of dihydrate calcium phosphate (DCPD);
Wet heating removes the bound water of DCPD;
Lime milk is adjusted to pH and then centrifuged/filtered, and DCPA is obtained by drying and sieving.
Features: Large crystal particles, suitable for pharmaceutical grade requirements, low energy consumption.
2. Spray drying and direct compression process
Key steps:
Neutralization of calcium hydroxide slurry with dilute phosphoric acid;
Adding crystallization inhibitor and rapid cooling to directly generate DCPA crystals;
Spray drying and sieving to obtain spherical products with good fluidity.
Advantages: Avoiding the dihydrate conversion step, suitable for direct compression tablet excipients.
3. Calcination method
Process: Using dihydrate calcium phosphate (DCPD) as raw material, high temperature calcination removes crystal water to generate DCPA.
Application: The process is simple, but the temperature needs to be controlled to avoid the formation of pyrophosphate.
4. Neutralization method
Reaction system: direct neutralization of phosphoric acid and calcium hydroxide/calcium carbonate, and DCPA47 is obtained after aging and drying.
Variant process:
Sulfuric acid extraction phosphoric acid method: neutralization in stages after defluorination, filter cake drying;
Urea phosphate-calcium hydroxide method: low-temperature crystallization centrifugation, filter cake drying.
5. Other methods
Extraction method: separation of calcium hydrogen phosphate with organic solvent, but the cost is high;
Ion exchange method: resin adsorption regeneration, high energy consumption and difficult wastewater treatment
