Potassium carbonate powder Raw Materials CAS 584-08-7
Product Overview:
Potassium carbonate powder, also known as potassium alkali, is colorless crystal or white particles in appearance. It is highly soluble in water and its solution is strongly alkaline. Insoluble in ethanol, acetone and ether. Strong hygroscopic, exposed to the air can absorb carbon dioxide and water, into potassium bicarbonate. Potassium carbonate can be obtained by reacting potassium hydroxide with carbon dioxide. It can also be obtained by using potassium chloride with magnesium carbonate, water, carbon dioxide under pressure, or by impregnating paulownia seed ash and plant ash. Potassium carbonate powder is mainly used as raw material for decarburization of synthetic gas, electronic tube, glass, enamel, printing and dyeing, welding rod, film development, inorganic salt and picture tube glass shell. Potassium carbonate impurity is commonly known as oxaline, aleurosin or pearl ash, which is one of the early potassium fertilizer varieties.

Applications/Functions of Potassium carbonate powder
- Potassium carbonate powder is a raw material for the decarburization of synthetic gas, vacuum tube, glass, enamel, printing and dyeing, welding rod, film development, inorganic salt and picture tube glass shell, impurity carbon
- Potassium sulfate, commonly known as oxaline, eleutherine, or pearl ash, is one of the early varieties of potassium fertilizer.
- Potassium carbonate can be used to produce optical glass, which can improve the transparency, strength and refractive coefficient of glass.
Physicochemical Property of Potassium carbonate powder
Monoclinic crystal system, white powder or fine granular crystal. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and ether.
Production methodprocess of Potassium carbonate powder
Potassium carbonate powder was prepared by recrystallization by dissolving industrial potassium carbonate in distilled water, purifying the solution, filtering to remove impurities, concentrating the filtrate by evaporation, cooling crystallization, centrifugal separation and drying.
