Chemical Product Sodium hypophosphite Details
Sodium hypophosphite powder Usage and Synthesis.
Chemical plating agent: Sodium hypophosphite is used as a reducing agent in the chemical plating process to form a corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, uniform and dense nickel-phosphorus alloy coating on the metal surface. It is widely used in electronics, machinery, petroleum, chemical, aviation, navigation, food and medicine industries.
Preservatives and antioxidants: In the food industry, sodium hypophosphite is used as a preservative and antioxidant to extend the shelf life of food.
Flame retardant: Sodium hypophosphite is the main raw material for halogen-free flame retardants and is used for flame retardancy of industrial plastics. It has broad application prospects.
Water treatment: In water treatment, sodium hypophosphite is used to prepare industrial preservatives, oilfield scale inhibitors and sewage treatment agents.
Other applications: Sodium hypophosphite is also used in the manufacture of detergents, bleaches, cleaners, skin care products, dyes and pigments and other consumer products.
Uses of Sodium hypophosphite powder.
Uses of sodium hypophosphite: It is mainly used as a reducing agent for chemical plating. For large equipment and small objects that cannot be electroplated; objects with complex shapes that require high precision and have concave and convex patterns; objects with deep hole inner walls that require high surface hardness and wear resistance; metallization of non-metallic materials such as plastics, ceramics, glass, quartz, etc., to obtain a dense and uniform nickel-phosphorus coating that is better than electroplating.
Widely used in electronics, aviation, machinery, petroleum and other industries. It can also be used to synthesize various water treatment agents, catalysts and stabilizers for chemical reactions, resin interfacial activators, molecular weight regulators, heat stabilizers and food additives, etc.
Function of Sodium hypophosphite.
1. Sodium hypophosphite is the main raw material of halogen-free flame retardant calcium aluminum hypophosphite because of its high purity, high absorption rate, few impurities, and heavy metal compound EU ROHS requirements. Although ordinary chlorine-bromine flame retardants are very effective, they are carcinogenic after incineration, so they have been banned in the EU. The effect of using it to produce halogen-free flame retardants is relatively ideal, especially in the industrial plastic flame retardant industry, which has a very broad prospect. At present, the research on halogen-free flame retardants is in full swing at home and abroad. We firmly believe that in the near future, halogen-free flame retardants will occupy a historic position in the flame retardant market.
2. Water treatment machine, the main component of scale inhibitors used in oil field pipelines in the petroleum industry and sewage treatment agents in the papermaking industry. At present, sodium hypophosphite is also compounded into concrete additives at home and abroad, and the amount is increasing year by year.
3. Chemical plating reducing agent, with nickel sulfate in a 1:1 ratio, the metal surface after chemical plating has corrosion resistance, wear resistance, uniform density, and a strong phosphorus nickel-gold plating layer, which can replace stainless steel materials and is widely used in electronics, machinery, petroleum, OEM, aviation, navigation, food, medicine and other industries.
4. Preparation of hypophosphorous acid. Domestic hypophosphorous acid is basically prepared from it by ion exchange resin method.
Product method of Bulk Sodium hypophosphite.
Put yellow phosphorus and slaked lime in a mass fraction ratio of 1:4 into the reactor in turn, add water to make a slurry, heat and heat up to 90°C while stirring, keep the reaction warm for a period of time, and stop the reaction when no gas is released. Remove the unreacted solids. Put the filtrate into the stirring kettle, stir while introducing carbon dioxide to bubble, so that the calcium hydroxide dissolved in the filtrate will form calcium carbonate precipitate.
Then add pudding sodium aqueous solution to carry out decomposition reaction, and take a sample to measure the end point after 0.5 to 1h of reaction (take the clear liquid, add sodium carbonate solution, if there is no turbidity, it means that the end point has been reached).
Filter the feed liquid after the double decomposition reaction to remove the calcium carbonate precipitate, vacuum concentrate the filtrate, and filter again to remove the calcium carbonate precipitate when it reaches 20°Bé. The solution is vacuum concentrated again, and when a crystal film appears on the surface, stop evaporation. Put it into the crystallization tank for cooling, crystallization, centrifugation to remove the mother liquor, and drying to obtain sodium hypophosphite.
