    1. Sodium chloroacetate and dimethylamine reaction method

    Steps: Sodium chloroacetate and dimethylamine are used as raw materials, react at 30°C for 3 hours (molar ratio 1:1.1) to generate a mixture of DMG and sodium chloride, which is subsequently purified by ethanol solvent crystallization or electrodialysis.

    Advantages: Directly synthesize the target product and avoid the purification problem of hydrochloride intermediates.

    2. Glycine methylation method

    Steps: Glycine is used as a raw material, refluxed with paraformaldehyde and NaBH₄ in 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol, and purified by silica gel column chromatography.

    3. Scale-up process of chloroacetic acid and dimethylamine

    Steps: Chloroacetic acid and dimethylamine react at 60-70°C in a n-butanol/p-toluenesulfonic acid system, adjust the pH to 7-9 after water separation, and obtain DMG sodium salt by concentration and filtration.
