Sebacic acid powder, the structure is simple HOOC(CH2)8COOH. White flake crystals. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether. Combustible, basically non-toxic. Sebacic acid is mainly used in the manufacture of cold-resistant plasticizers dibutyl sebacate, dioctyl sebacate, diisooctyl sebacate and dialkyl sebacate. Sebacic acid can also be used to produce nylon 1010, nylon 910, nylon 810, nylon 610, nylon 9 raw materials and to produce high-temperature lubricating oil diethylhexyl ester raw materials. Sebacic acid powder is also a raw material for the production of alkyd resins (used as surface coatings, plasticized cellulose nitrate coatings and urea resin varnishes) and polyurethane rubber. Plasticizer, softener and solvent for cellulose resin, vinyl resin and synthetic rubber.
