Production method of Vitamin B12 Powder

Vitamin B12 Powder can be synthesized in large quantities by actinomycetes such as Streptomyces griseus, and the cultures of such bacteria are used industrially to produce Vitamin B12. The total synthesis of Vitamin B12 Raw Materials was accomplished by R.B. Woodward in 1973, which was a very prominent work in organic synthesis.

(1) Prepared by fermentation of Streptomyces griseus, the fermentation broth was acidified and adsorbed with a weakly acidic acrylic acid-based cation exchange resin - 122, then eluted, purified, converted with 1% cyanide, and the finished product was obtained by repeated extraction with solvent and water, lead oxide chromatography, and acetone crystallization.
  2. (2) glucose sugar, corn syrup as raw materials, inoculated with Propionibacterium shermarii (Propionibacterium shermarii) fermentation, to the fermentation broth, add cobalt chloride, 5,6-2 methylbenzimidazole, after extraction and drying to obtain the product
