Berberine powder is an important alkaloid, which has been used in Chinese medicine for a long time. It can be extracted from Coptis, Phellodendron phellodendron, three needles and other plants. Physicochemical Property of Berberine powder

Berberine powder is a common isoquinoline alkaloid. The yellow acicular crystal precipitated from the ether has a melting point of 145℃. Soluble in water, insoluble in benzene, ether and chloroform. It has the characteristics of quaternary amine salt.

Production methodprocess of Berberine powder

Using safrole as raw material, isosafrole was obtained by isomerization under reduced pressure, and piperaldehyde was synthesized by oxidation. Piperaldehyde is condensed with nitromethane to produce β-nitro-3, 4-dioxymethylene styrene, which is further reduced to piperiethylamine: piperiethylamine is condensed with o-veratraldehyde, which is then catalyzed by hydrogenation, salting, cyclization, and alkalization to berberine. Berberine CAS 2086-83-1 is obtained by continuing to salt with hydrochloric acid.
