Pce, also known as PEG-5, PCE, CAS registration number 9004-99-3, Polyoxyethylene stearate is a white waxy solid, Soluble in isopropyl alcohol, mineral oil butyl stearate, glycerin, peroxyethylene, gasoline solvents, dispersed in water. Pce is used in cosmetics, pharmaceutical emulsifiers, soap-based thickeners, softeners, emulsion stabilizers, etc. Pce can be used as a softening agent for fiber processing and has good antistatic and lubricating properties. It can be used as a softener in the weaving process to reduce breakage and improve the feel of the fabric.

Applications/Functions of Polyoxyethylene stearate powder

  1. Pce is used as an emulsifier for oils and esters during liquid or paste emulsification in lubricant production. It can also be used as a thickening agent and stabilizer in paper powder coating, lubricants and softeners for textiles, lubricants for multichannel transmission wires in cable pipelines, and lubricants for paper sizing.

Pce is a white waxy solid, soluble in isopropyl alcohol, mineral oil butyl stearate, glycerin, peroxyethylene and gasoline solvents. It is dispersed in water.

Production methodprocess of Polyoxyethylene stearate powder

Put 1.07mol polyethylene glycol and 0.49mol boric acid into the reactor, heated to 110℃, vacuumed to 0367MPa, reacted for 2h to produce borate ester. Then, p-toluenesulfonic acid was added as catalyst, and 1mol stearic acid was added as reactant. After the reaction at 140℃ for 3 ~ 4h, the acid value was measured by sampling, and the reaction ended when the acid value was reduced to about 10mgKOH/g. Put the liquid into the neutralization tank, neutralize it, and discharge the waste water. Pce is stirred and formed hot, cooled and packed into PCE, Polyoxyethylene stearate powder.
