White transparent rhombic crystal, with a light green color, turns yellow when heated, and returns to its original color when cooled. Density 4.692g/cm3, melting point 795℃, boiling point 1155℃, easy to sublimate. Molybdenum trioxide can be used as analytical reagent to produce raw material of molybdenum metal, molybdenum alloy and molybdenum salt. Used as a catalyst in the petroleum industry; Used for enamel glaze pigment and medicine. Molybdenum trioxide powder is produced by burning molybdenum or molybdenum disulfide in air or roasting molybdic acid.
