Apixaban is a new oral Factor Xa inhibitor jointly developed by Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer, the trade name of Altol, is a new oral anticoagulant drug. By inhibiting Xa, an important clotting factor, Apixaban prevents thrombin production and thrombosis.
