Silymarin powder, also known as Yiganling, ligantai, Silimalin and Liganon, is a flavonoid complex formed by condensation of dihydroflavonol and phenylpropyl derivatives extracted from the seeds of milk thistle in the asteraceae family. Silymarin is yellow or crystalline powder with bitter taste. Soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol and ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform, almost insoluble in water, Silymarin has a strong liver protection effect, can protect liver cells from free radical damage, far more effective than vitamin E, promote protein synthesis, speed up the manufacture of new liver cells, so that damaged liver cells can repair themselves.
