Folic Acid Tablet Usage and Synthesis.
Folic acid is mainly used for nutritional, infantile or gestational megaloblastic anemia, and can also be used as an auxiliary treatment for "pernicious anemia" caused by vitamin B12 deficiency. This product can also be used for anemia caused by chemical substances (lead, benzene, etc.), and is also used as a food fortifier and feed additive.
Small doses are used for preventive medication during pregnancy, taken from 3 months before pregnancy to 3 months of early pregnancy, which can prevent the occurrence of most neural tube defects in the fetus. Regular folic acid supplementation for pregnant women can prevent congenital malformations such as low birth weight, premature birth, and cleft lip and palate in infants; it is also very important for preventing brain and nerve defects in the fetus.
Uses of Folic Acid Tablet.
Folic acid can improve megaloblastic anemia. Pregnant women who take a safe amount of folic acid can prevent vascular sclerosis, fetal malformation and premature birth. In addition, pregnant women need to start taking folic acid in the first three months of pregnancy to meet the needs of pregnancy, because folic acid generally takes 4 weeks to be converted and play a physiological role.
Lactating women can promote milk secretion by taking folic acid. Folic acid supplementation can improve tongue redness, swelling and pain, mental depression, fatigue, insomnia; prevent intestinal parasites and food poisoning; promote skin health and breed oral mucosal ulcers; taking it with pantothenic acid and para-aminobenzoic acid can prevent gray hair; taking it when the body is weak can promote appetite.
Function of Folic Acid Tablet.
Folic acid is a one-carbon carrier. The donors of one-carbon groups such as formyl, formaldehyde and methanol include formylglutamate, purine, serine, glycine, etc. One-carbon group is incorporated into the N6 or N10 position of tetrahydrofolic acid. In this form, folic acid plays an important role in the synthesis of purine and pyrimidine, the mutual conversion of amino acids and certain methylation reactions.
Product of Folic Acid.
The cyclization reaction of p-aminobenzoylglutamic acid, 2,4,5-triamino-6-hydroxypyrimidine and trichloroacetone in the presence of sodium pyrosulfite and sodium acetate, maintaining pH 3.4-3.6 and temperature 36-40°C for 6 hours, yields an orange-red folic acid precipitate. α,β-dibromopropionaldehyde can also be used instead of trichloroacetone to condense the product under similar conditions.
