​​​Doxycycline hyclate powder is an antibiotic, tetracycline, that can treat mycoplasma chlamydia infection. Its character is light yellow or yellow crystalline powder, odor, bitter taste. Easily soluble in water or methanol, slightly soluble in ethanol or acetone, insoluble in chloroform. Doxycycline hyclate is a semi-synthetic tetracycline antibiotic capable of penetrating cell membranes to bind to the 30S ribosome subunit, interfering with tRNA/mRNA interactions, and ultimately inhibiting protein synthesis. Doxycycline hyclate acts as a broad spectrum antibiotic and bacteriostatic agent, which is mainly resistant to bacteria that cause respiratory infections, including mycoplasma pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae. In addition, Doxycycline hyclate powder can treat infections caused by chlamydia, Rickettsia and certain spirochetes, and has antiseptic and dewormer properties.
