Danofloxacin mesylate has strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria (G+), some anaerobic bacteria and mycoplasma. It is sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic streptococcus, pneumococcus, Legionella pneumophila, mycoplasma, and is also sensitive to Clostridium, Clostridium Wilsoni, Tetanobacter, and Bacteroides. Danofloxacin mesylate is clinically used for infection caused by epimycin and erythromycin resistant bacteria. Mycoplasma infection caused chronic respiratory disease in poultry and asthma in pigs.
