Product details
In 1929, the famous Danish chemist Damm first discovered and extracted a yellow crystal substance -Vitamin K1 powder from animal liver and sesame seed oil. Vitamin K can be divided into two categories, are 2-methyl-1, 4-naphthoquinone derivatives, one is fat-soluble vitamins, that is, vitamin K1 extracted from green plants (such as alfalfa, spinach and other green leafy plants, etc.) and vitamin K2 extracted from microorganisms, human intestinal bacteria (such as E. coli) can also synthesize vitamin K2. Vitamin K1 is a yellow oil and K2 is a pale yellow crystal. Both are heat resistant, but they are easily damaged by ultraviolet light and should be stored away from light. The other category is water-soluble vitamins, which are synthetic vitamins K3 and K4. The most important are vitamins K1 and K2.
Applications/Functions of Vitamin K1 powder
Physicochemical Property of Vitamin K1 powder
Vitamin K1 Yellow to orange transparent viscous liquid, odorless. The relative density is 0.967 and the refractive index nD251.525 ~ 1.528. Soluble in chloroform, ether and vegetable oil, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in water. Easy to decompose when exposed to light, decomposition when heated to 120℃.
Production methodprocess of Vitamin K1 powder
In the presence of zinc, acetyl menadione is produced by reduction and acetylation of o-methylnaphthoquinone and acetic anhydride. Then it was hydrolyzed in ammonia water, and then condensed with plant alcohol in ether under the catalysis of boron trifluoride to obtain dihydride vitamin K1. Finally, Vitamin K1 powder was obtained by hydrolysis, oxidation, purification and refining.
