Uses and synthesis of Ethyl 3-methyl-3-phenylglycidate liquid

Ethyl 3-methyl-3-phenylglycidate liquid colorless to light yellow liquid. Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. Ethyl 3-methyl-3-phenylglycidate was obtained from the Darzens reaction of acetophenone with ethyl chloroacetate catalyzed by sodium ethanolate. Ethyl 3-methyl-3-phenylglycidate is used in the preparation of strawberry, cherry and apple flavor. For hyacinth, lilac, rose and other flower flavor and lipstick flavor, for strawberry, raspberry and other berry flavor.
