Factory Supply 1-chloro-iso-butane Liquid CAS 513-36-0 Raw Materials
Product Overview:
1-chloro-iso-butane Liquid is an important raw material for organic synthesis. Because of the active chlorine atom in its structure, it can react with aromatic amines and aliphatic amines to produce the corresponding amines by removing hydrogen chloride. Therefore, 1-chloro-iso-butane Liquid can be used as intermediates of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, auxiliaries, etc. It can also be used as solvents and refrigerants.
1-chloro-iso-butane CAS 513-36-0 Colorless liquid. Melting point -131℃. Boiling point 68-69℃. Relative density o. 883. Flash point (open cup) <7℃. Refractive index 1.3984. 1-chloro-iso-butane Raw Materials is insoluble in water, 1-chloro-iso-butane Raw Materials is miscible with ethanol and ether. It is flammable, and decomposes and emits toxic phosgene when it meets high heat. It reacts strongly with oxidizer and burns immediately when exposed to open flame. Toxicity is greater than 1-chloro-butane.

1-chloro-iso-butane Liquid properties and stability
- 1-chloro-iso-butane Liquid is a colorless liquid. Melting point -131℃. Boiling point 68-69℃. Relative density o.883. Flash point (open cup) <7℃. Refractive index 1.3984. Insoluble in water, miscible with ethanol and ether. It is more toxic than 1-chlorobutane.
- 1-chloro-iso-butane CAS 513-36-0 is used and stored according to specifications without decomposition, avoid contact with oxides. Decomposition by high heat or combustion emits toxic gases.
- 1-chloro-iso-butane Raw Materials reacts with oxidizing agents. When exposed to open flame and high heat, it is easy to cause combustion. Decompose into isobutene and hydrogen chloride by heat. Depending on the reaction conditions, the decomposition products can be recombined into 2-chloro-2-methylpropane.
- 1-chloro-iso-butane Raw Materials is heated to 120~350°C under pressure with inorganic alkaline aqueous solutions or suspensions to produce a mixture of isobutanol, tert-butanol and isobutene. It reacts with sodium in liquid ammonia to form isobutane and with sodium amide to form isobutene. It has anesthetic effect at high concentration.
Production method of 1-chloro-iso-butane Liquid
1-chloro-iso-butane Liquid is obtained by reacting isobutanol with sulfoxide chloride. The sulfoxide chloride is preheated and isobutanol is added slowly. After adding, heat reflux for 10-12h until the temperature stabilizes at about 70℃, cool, distill, wash and dry the resulting crude product, fractionate at atmospheric pressure, and collect the 67.5-69℃ fraction as the finished product. The product can also be produced by reacting isobutanol with hydrochloric acid in the presence of zinc chloride.
