Cimetidine, also known as cimetidine, tagamine, cimetidine, is an H2 receptor antagonist that can significantly inhibit the secretion of basal gastric acid during the day and night, as well as the secretion of gastric acid induced by food, histamine, pentagastrin, caffeine, and insulin.
