Atomoxetine hydrochloride powder is a white or light white solid, soluble in water (27.8 mg/ml). Atomoxetine hydrochloride is a hydrochloride form of the nervous system drug tomoxetine, an adrenal transmitter reuptake inhibitor, and Atomoxetine hydrochloride is used to treat attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder. Tomoxetine is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) with a structure similar to fluoxetine.
Action Pharmaceutical Raw Materials
Dosage for children and adolescents weighing less than 70 kg - Initially, the total daily dose of atomoxetine hydrochloride should be approximately 0.5 mg/kg, and after 3 days of the lowest dose, the dose should be increased to a total daily target dose of approximately 1.2 mg/kg, either as a single dose in the morning or divided equally into two doses in the morning and evening. Doses exceeding 1.2 mg/kg/day have not shown additional benefits.
For children and adolescents, the maximum daily dose should not exceed 1.4 mg/kg or 100 mg, whichever is smaller.
Dosage for children, adolescents, and adults weighing more than 70 kg - Initially, the total daily dose of atomoxetine hydrochloride should be 40 mg, and after 3 days of the lowest dose, the dose should be increased to a total daily target dose of approximately 80 mg, either as a single dose in the morning or divided equally into two doses in the morning and evening. If optimal therapeutic effect is still not achieved after continuing to use it for another 2 to 4 weeks, the total daily dose can be increased to a maximum of 100 mg. There is no data to support that higher doses will increase efficacy.
