Adenine powder (formerly vitamin B4) is a purine that has many different biochemical functions. Adenine is a fine white crystalline powder with a strong salty taste. Insoluble in cold water, soluble in boiling water, acid and alkali, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether and chloroform. The aqueous solution is neutral. Melting point 360 ~ 365℃ (while decomposing) begins to sublimate at 220℃. Adenine is a component of nucleic acids that participate in RNA and DNA synthesis in organisms and promote leukocyte proliferation when leukocytes are deficient. Adenine powder (used to prevent leukopenia, but also for acute granulocytopenia). It can also be used for blood storage.
