Uses and synthesis of Clobetasol propionate powder

Clobetasol propionate is a dermatological medication. Topical use is suitable for chronic eczema, neurodermatitis, psoriasis, palmoplantar impetigo, lichen planus, discoid lupus erythematosus and other effective topical use of glucocorticoids for pruritus and non-infectious inflammatory skin diseases. Clobetasol propionate powder has a rapid action and is one of the most potent topical corticosteroids currently in clinical use. The anti-inflammatory effect of Clobetasol propionate is 112.5 times that of hydrocortisone, 2.3 times that of betamethasone sodium phosphate and 18.7 times that of fluoconide. The systemic adverse reactions were 3 times that of fluoxonide, anhydrous sodium retention, and had a certain effect of promoting sodium and potassium excretion.

Mechanism of action of Clobetasol propionate powder.

Drug interactions of Clobetasol propionate powder.

The systemic absorption of topical clobetasol propionate is usually low, so the possibility of clinically significant interactions with other drugs is low. However, in theory, if it is used over a large area for a long time, or an occlusive dressing is used to increase systemic absorption, it may interact with strong CYP3A4 enzyme inhibitors (such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, etc.), increasing the systemic exposure of clobetasol propionate and the risk of side effects.
