​Kanamycin sulfate powder is a broad spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic with similar antibacterial profile to neomycin. Clinically, it is mainly used for lung infection, urinary tract infection, biliary tract infection septicemia and abdominal infection caused by sensitive bacteria, and the latter two are often combined with other antibacterial drugs. Kanamycin sulfate can also be used for Staphylococcus aureus infections that are resistant to other antibiotics and sensitive to this product. In the treatment of tuberculosis, this product can be used as a second-line drug. Kanamycin sulfate binds mainly to the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis.
